With Tom's return we now await our Visa appointment on January 22nd. We are thrilled that the student visa allows us to be in Israel for a whole year before needing to renew it. Please pray that we get approved for our visas and that we get them in our possession before we leave! Once we've been approved we have to send our passports to the nearest Israeli Embassy, which is in Chicago. UHL (Tom's school) believes we should be able to get our visas and passports around the 25th. We're believing!
We also realize we need a lot of wisdom about Cassidy's school. Tom found a great pre-K and Kindergarten in the Old City that will help her transition from English to Hebrew, but we obviously want to make sure she's comfortable with the process. We're praying she learns the language quickly so she will be able to participate and enjoy her time in school. It will be a big change; she goes to school twice a week for 2 1/2 hours, and in Israel she will be going 5 days a week for 7 hours. We're not in a hurry to get her in school, but we want to do what's best for her. We're very thankful Tom visited this school while he was in Israel; it's a relief to know she will be in a good learning environment.
I am grateful to have Tom home, and I know he's happy to be back for a bit. We're blessed to be staying in a nice home that is still close to many family and friends. Cassidy enjoys her preschool and we're loving the time we have to see so many people before we leave. We pray you're all doing well, and enjoying the start of 2012.
